I am writing to invite you to attend the Southern Consortium 6th Form Recruitment Evening at Sydney Russell sixth form on Thursday, 13th October 2016 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm.
Sydney Russell sixth form is part of a consortium of five schools who work together to provide students with a broad range of opportunities to study A-Level and BTEC qualifications, as well as vocational training. These are:
· Dagenham Park Church of England School
· Eastbury Community School
· Jo Richardson Community School
· Riverside School
· The Sydney Russell School
Sydney Russell sixth form has the highest A-Level results in the Borough, and we have a reputation for excellence in helping sixth form students to go on to study at a range of prestigious universities.
During the evening, you are invited to hear about life in the 6th Form at Sydney Russell, and have the opportunity to speak to subject staff and current 6th Form students about the options available for studying with us after Year 11. In addition, you may wish to visit the other sites in the Southern Consortium, in order to see the breadth of offers available next year. It is also a chance for students to learn about courses which they may not had the chance to study at GCSE, including Psychology, Economics, Government & Politics, and Photography. You will also have the chance to come and view our dedicated 6th Form area, which will be a fantastic resource for our students to use to ensure that they get the most out of the two years that they will spend with us.
The evening will begin at 4:00pm in the sixth form area, with an address from Ms Davies, the Principal, Sydney Russell School. To allow some flexibility, this address will be repeated at 4.30pm and 5.00pm. This will be followed
by the chance to speak to subject staff about the courses on offer, or to visit one or more of the other four sites in the consortium.
The Sydney Russell 6th Form provides an excellent opportunity for students not only to gain qualifications and university places, but also to develop the skills and attributes they will need as they move into adult life. I look forward to seeing you on the evening, and I look forward to welcoming your son or daughter to the Sydney Russell 6th Form.
Ms S Dryden
