Yesterday we welcomed back some of our newly formed alumni network for an assembly with Year 11 and a workshop with Year 9 students.
The speakers, from various fields, inspired the students to take in the advice of the staff, get the best possible grades to open doors and consider how the people around them may impact their ability to be the best they can be.
The students that took part were all inspired by the event. Here are some quotes from the assembly:
Molly – “Starting an apprenticeship in the Treasury at 17 years old made me realise that I should have got as much advice from my teachers as possible because in the workplace you are expected to get on with it – no one tells you what to do and how to think.”
Innocent – “I didn’t know what I wanted to do in the future, which is why it was so important to me to make sure that I had great grades that could open up any door for me.”
Dave – “You are the sum of the five people that you spend the most time with, so who do you hang around with and are they helping you to be the best possible person that you can be?”
The alumni who were present were:
A big thank you to our alumni for giving up their time to hold the assembly and workshop.
