Re: The end of Year 11 – congratulations and next steps
I would like to start by congratulating our year 11 students on completing their GCSE exams and reaching the end of Year 11.
For many, there will be a sense of the past five years having passed by in a flash. During those five years, we have had the privilege of seeing our Year 11 students grow, mature, discover themselves and discover what they love to learn so that today, they are leaving with dreams and aspirations, hopes and ambitions for what lies ahead. They have shown tenacity and determination in the past year; they have not wanted Covid to stop them from achieving their potential, and they have worked hard to ensure they made both personal and academic progress during this year so that they were as ready as they could be for their exams and for the next stage in their journey in sixth form, college or employment.
My thanks to you, parents and carers, family and friends, for your unswerving support through the last five years. We have navigated the ups and downs, the highs and lows, but as the students left school yesterday after their celebration in the hall, with post-exam relief visible, we could all appreciate that the journey had achieved its aim.
We look forward to continuing our work with many you of over the next two years of 16+ but if this is your youngest child leaving SRS then a particular thanks for the many years of working with us and supporting us to best support your child.
