ASSESSMENT

At The Sydney Russell School we believe that in order to make progress, students’ work and performance needs to be monitored on a regular basis and assessed frequently.  The purpose of assessment is to:

  • enable students to learn and make progress
  • enable teachers to use assessments to plan lessons to maximise students’ performance
  • enable parents to know how their children are progressing towards their academic targets
  • enable the Principal and Senior Leaders to make accurate judgements about the quality of teaching

At The Sydney Russell School, it is expected that Assessment for Learning will be an integral part of every lesson and strategies should be explicit in the Programmes of Study.
