Dear parents and carers,

The NEU has announced two further dates of strike action this term, Wednesday 5th and Friday 7th July. As you are aware, this has significant implications for our school as the vast majority of teachers are members of this union. Further to this, training for support staff which is scheduled for these dates, and cannot be changed, means we are unable to offer any on-site provision for the small number of children who have been in school on previous strike days. Therefore, on both dates, the school will be closed to all students.

I ask parents to note that each school will be affected to a varying extent, depending on the numbers of teachers who are NEU members. The actions which schools have to take at this time will not all be the same, but will reflect their individual circumstances.

Free School Meals will be available to all those eligible from 11.30am – 1.30pm from the secondary site.

I appreciate that this is, again, a significant change to our normal ways of working and I would like to express my appreciation of your cooperation at this time.
