Amendment to curriculum delivery for students in Y10 and Y12 on 6th June 2025
Further to my notice to parents and carers in the newsletter on 23rd May, Eid is expected to be celebrated on Friday 6th June. We have a number of staff and students who will be observing this religious celebration and having looked at the exact numbers of staff this will involve, with limited supply agency cover available on that day, it is evident that we will be unable to sufficiently staff all classes.
In order to prioritise our youngest learners and those who are vulnerable, we will be requiring students in Year 10 and Year 12 only to stay at home on Friday 6th June to complete remote learning independent revision for their forthcoming exams.
If you are concerned that your child in Year 10 or Year 12 may be vulnerable and unable to stay at home for remote learning on this day, please complete the following form to request a supervised place in school: Request for supervised place for student in Year 10/Year 12
If your child in Year 10 or 12 is eligible for Free School Meals, they will be able to collect this from school reception between 11-11.30am on Monday.
Children in the primary phase, as well as students in Years 7, 8, 9 who are not observing Eid will attend school as normal.
Students in Year 11 and Year 13 who have an exam on this day must attend their exam.
This is an exceptional circumstance, and our priority is to ensure the safety of all those on the school premises. The uncertain nature of knowing the exact date of the celebration and the implications for the school does mean that this notification is coming to you with a shorter notice period than usual, and I thank you for your understanding in this matter.
