We close on another busy week of hard work and achievement across the school. This week we were delighted to welcome hundreds of families who are considering SRS for their child in Year 7 next year, with a really special evening of students and staff showcasing our school with pride – thank you to all who ensured it was such a successful evening.

We also celebrated our current Year 7s’ music education journey at SRS, with our musical instrument ceremony on Tuesday in which every Year 7 student received the musical instrument which they will be taught to play during their music lessons this year. My thanks to Ms Palmer, Mr Mitchell and the whole music department for making it such a special day and for ensuring every child at SRS has the highest standard of music education.

We finished the week with our Macmillan coffee morning – thank you to all who supported in making beautiful cakes and donating money to raise funds for this important charity.

Amongst all that, our students have worked incredibly hard this week and will be ready for a rest over the weekend! Wishing you a restful few days.

Mrs Cross
