Dear parents/carers,
Unplanned closure of secondary site only for students in Y7, Y8, Y9, Y10 and Y12 – Wednesday 7th January 2026
The engineers are still working to fully establish the issue and resolve it – whilst there has been some progress in one of the buildings, this now needs to be able to run successfully for several hours before we can be confident the problem is addressed, as well as work completed to resolve the second building’s heating issues.
Therefore, tomorrow will run as follows:
Y11 on-site for mocks as planned:
Y11 were brilliant today – well done!
Tomorrow:
- Combined Science finishes approx 10.15am(students who do not study Hi/Ge will then leave)

Separate Sc (Chemistry) finishes at approx 10.45am (students who do not study Hi/Ge will then leave)

Hi/Ge students will revise in the link canteen, food will be available.

Hi/Ge exams will begin at 11.45am (to allow sufficient break after the longer science exam), finishing at 1.15pm (Ge) and 1.45pm(Hi). Students will then leave site.
Y13 will be on-site for face-to-face lessons p1-2 as timetabled

Y13 lessons in Norris/Kingsley will be re-roomed as needed

Y13 students will arrive for 8.30am, register in the 16+ area then go to P1.
Y7, Y8, Y9, Y10, Y12 – remote learning
Tasks will be set on Teams and/or subject-specific online platforms. If students have completed all tasks, they should prioritise reading, completing additional tasks on online subject learning platforms and revising.
ARP students will not be on-site.
Students eligible for Free School Meals will be able to collect a packed lunch between 10-10.30am from reception.
If your child is unable to be at home please send them to the front reception by 8.30am tomorrow morning – they will be supervised in the library for the day to complete remote learning.
An update on progress will be sent to parents as soon as possible to confirm opening arrangements for Thursday 8th January 2026.
