I am delighted to confirm that there will be a mobile COVID Testing unit on our site tomorrow morning, Monday 14th December offering a test, in the first instance, to all students in years 11, 12 and 13 who are currently in school with no symptoms as this is where the infection rate amongst young people is highest. We are also extending the offer of testing to their families.
I appreciate that this is short notice but positive COVID cases have been increasing rapidly locally and the tests will reduce the risk of those without symptoms spreading the virus. This test will also provide you with peace of mind and give you the information you need to keep your family and the local community safe over the Christmas period. Being tested on Monday means that even if the result is positive you would be able to spend Christmas with the family as isolation would end before Christmas day.
The facility will have the ability to do 500 tests. The tests are voluntary. Year 11 students must have parental consent. I also urge their family to make use of this opportunity and be tested.
