World Mental Health Day takes place on Saturday 10 October 2026.

It raises awareness of mental health as a universal human right and highlights the need for accessible, quality care, inclusion, dignity and community support. One in eight people live with a mental health condition.

At SRS, we know that listening to students’ experiences can help make positive changes in our school community. When students speak up, their ideas can help us understand what is needed and take action.

Recent examples of student voice making a difference at SRS include:

  • A KS3 Girls Supporting Girls group
  • Targeted wellbeing workshops
  • Revision spaces for KS4 and 5
  • Increased mentor provision
  • More extracurricular activities
  • New ways of working and use of the Sixth Form Area
  • Additional playground seating
  • Improved use of the basketball and football courts

Thank you to everyone who shares their experiences and ideas. Your voice matters. Keep using your voice and speak about what would help you and your school community.
