Confirmed non-pupil day – Friday 20th March 2026

Further to recent communications to parents regarding the school’s staff planning for Eid, I am writing to confirm that Friday 20th March 2026 will be a non-pupil day on which the school will be closed to all students in the primary, secondary and Sixth Form phases.

Eid is expected to be celebrated on Friday 20th March.  We have a large number of staff and students who will be observing this religious celebration, meaning that our planned curriculum provision will not be able to be delivered.  Having looked at the exact numbers of staff, and having now had confirmation of limited supply agency cover available on that day, it is evident that we will be unable to sufficiently staff all classes.  We will therefore be using one of our designated non-pupil days for this occasion.

The uncertain nature of knowing the exact date of the celebration, and therefore the implications for the school, does mean that confirming arrangements for this date is given the utmost consideration to ensure it is as timely as possible, whilst also ensuring it is the right decision for the circumstance.  I thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Should you have any urgent queries, please contact me via office@sydneyrussellschool.com or via our contact form here.

Yours faithfully,

Clare Cross
