FOOTBALL ACADEMY

The Sydney Russell 16+ Football Academy will give you the opportunity to play elite level football in a professionally run Football Academy, which is led by a UEFA B Qualified Coach. The Academy is partnered and works closely with a Premier League Football Club with strong links in the Talent Identification department.

Training sessions follow a coaching syllabus that is in line with the England DNA Principles and following what The FA want the ‘Future England Player’ to attain across the 4 corner model.

There will be tailored programmes for individuals to follow as part of the Strength & Conditioning offer which will be completed in a state of the art gym.

Over the year, individual targets will be set and reflected upon throughout to continually grow and develop as a footballer. There will be the use of a ‘veo camera’ which will record matches played and allow for video match analysis to be completed, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement, as an individual, within units or as a team.

Where possible, trips will be planned to further enhance your journey as part of the Football Academy. For those students wanting to go further with their football, support will be provided by the Director of Sport to allow for such things to happen. Support will be provided for those wanting to go overseas to America for Scholarships to play in their University set up and other exit routes will be supported.

Interest is welcome from both male and female players.

Open Training Sessions for the Football Academy will be held in January (TBC) with Trials being held from April (TBC)
