December has arrived and so have the first flurries of snow! The Christmas trees have gone up on both school sites and there is definitely excitement building in the air.
At SRS, December is a month of charity.
As we start December and our preparations for festive celebrations, it is impossible to ignore the humanitarian crisis which continues to take and affect innocent lives, particularly those of the children in Gaza. Today we have launched a series of fundraising events with proceeds going to Save the Children. The charity works specifically to safeguard and protect children most at risk in the world.
This morning our staff event raised over £300 which has been a fantastic start to our appeal. In the coming weeks we will have fundraising activities at our whole school events, namely Prizegiving, the Christmas Fair, the Winter Showcase, Christmas Jumper days and our EYFS plays. Further details will go to parents via Edulink but we ask for you to support in any way you can.
Separate to this, next week sees the start of our Reverse Advent calendar where we will be collecting donations of tins of food, dry pasta/rice/lentils, cooking sauces, toiletries and tissues. The donations collected will go to Kingsley Hall as we work to also support our local community. Thank you in advance for your support.
Have a lovely weekend.
