Welcome back for the final half term of the academic year! Where has the sun gone? I hope you all enjoyed a restful break and Eid Mubarak to all our student, families and staff who have been celebrating today.
It has been an incredibly busy week, from Year 6 residential to our Governor day and lots more in between. We are delighted to share some wonderful photos from this week’s Y6 residential at Kingswood – my thanks to all the children who attended for being so brilliant and representing the school to such an exemplary standards. Huge thanks also to the staff who accompanied them – they were very glad to get a good night’s sleep on Thursday!
Our governors were in school on Tuesday, examining the progress towards our school priority of primary writing, visiting secondary lessons, looking at lots of students’ books and meeting with students to learn more about their experiences at SRS. I am proud to say that the governors were thrilled by what they saw and heard, commenting on the extensive progress made in primary writing development, the consistent approaches across all phases of the school and the high standard of work seen in students’ books. Such high standards are not achieved overnight and I thank all the staff for their constant endeavour to support our young people to achieve their best – we have a great school team.
We have a busy six weeks ahead of us, with many students sitting end of year assessments and exams, and just a few weeks to go for our Y11 and Y13 students as they face the final GCSE and A Level exams. We know that all your hard work will pay off – keep it up!
Have a lovely weekend.
Mrs Cross
