We would like to thank you for your attendance in yesterday’s first consultation on RSHE.
The Department for Education (DfE) has recently announced updates to the statutory guidance for Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) in all schools. These changes aim to ensure that pupils are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to lead safe, healthy, and respectful lives both now and in the future.
As a school, we are fully committed to providing high-quality RSHE that meets the diverse needs of our pupils and reflects the values of our school community. We are currently reviewing our RSHE policy and Personal Development curriculum to ensure it remains compliant with the new guidance while continuing to support the personal development of all our pupils.
Our RSHE curriculum is designed to:
– Be age & developmentally appropriate, taking into account the maturity and needs of our pupils
– Respect and reflect the cultural and religious backgrounds of our school community
– Foster respect, empathy, and self-confidence in all pupils
– Help pupils understand how to build and maintain healthy relationships
– Prepare children for the physical and emotional changes of growing up
– Promote a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for learning and living
