Sydney Russell Elite Sports Squad Launch
On Thursday 28th February, we had the launch of the Sydney Russell Elite Sports Squad and we were honoured to have Adam Gemili attend and take part in the event.
The students were absolutely superb, remained professional and worked so hard throughout the morning. 
Students were selected based on displaying elite sporting talent within PE lessons and engaging fully with the extra-curricular programme competing for the school in at least 2 sports teams over a year.
During the morning all students completed a variety of fitness tests. These were recorded and from these each athlete will be given an individual plan which will incorporate fitness sessions and areas to develop to enable them to develop into elite athlete within the school.
Adam Gemili said “the students at Sydney Russell were fantastic. They are so lucky to have just a brilliant sports initiative to be a part of and to help them drive forward with their sport. They all worked so hard and displayed such levels of confidence throughout the day, they have such bright futures ahead of them. It was brilliant to talk to them and see the sporting talent on display, good luck to all involved!” Thank you to Adam for coming into school and inspiring our students!
