It has been a busy week across the school, culminating in some great celebrations for World Book Day and International Women’s day, so there are lots of photos for you to enjoy in this week.
I am also delighted to share a brilliant video created with some of our students to celebrate International Women’s Day: https://youtu.be/4xLBTvl9ci0 I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms Ezzat, Mr Dovey and all the staff and students who participated to make such a powerful piece.
On Wednesday this week we welcomed the Director of School Improvement for Partnership Learning Trust, Philippa Holliday, and School Improvement Partner (primary specialist) Nicola Masters. During their visit they went into lessons across both the primary and secondary sites, looked at some students work and then met with me to discuss the school’s work. I was very pleased to see how impressed they were by what they saw and happy to receive the following message after the visit:
“I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for your time today. It was a pleasure visiting your school and having the opportunity to go on a learning walk across both the primary and secondary phases. I was truly impressed by the students in both sections; they were courteous, inquisitive, and demonstrated a clear ability to articulate their learning with pride. Their behaviour was exemplary, as was their behaviour for learning, the quality of teaching, and the standard of work in their books. I very much look forward to my next visit.”
Such messages not only reinforce our evaluation of the quality of education offered at SRS, but also encourage the further work we undertake to maximise opportunities and outcomes for all of our learners, your children.
Wishing you a restful weekend.
Mrs Cross
