This week marked 80 years since VE day – celebrating the ending of a war that had shaken the world. We have enjoyed some very special celebrations in school ensuring our next generation understand, respect and remember the significance of the sacrifice many made for our freedom.
It is poignant that, as we celebrate the end of a period of devastation, we are acutely aware of the continued warfare that threatens the lives of innocent people around the world. Our thoughts are with our students’ families and friends who may be living in parts of the world where conflict threatens safety and liberty. Should your family or your child be particularly affected in any way, please contact us to ensure we are aware and can support.
This week also marked the start of the next phase of GCSE exams – our Year 11 students have made a brilliant start! Next week Year 6 will complete their SATs assessments – we wish you all the best of luck and know that all your hard work will pay off, enjoy showcasing what you do every day!
Wishing you all a restful weekend.
