Sydney Russell School is holding its Open Evening on 22nd September for Year 6 students and their parents who are choosing secondary schools for 2026.

In order to allow staff time to set up displays and pack them away, secondary and 16+ students will finish one lesson earlier on Monday 22nd September at 1.30pm. We will ensure the canteen remains open until 2pm for children who wish to stay for lunch.

This does not impact students on the primary site where times for the school day will be as normal.

If the early closure on Monday 22nd September causes you any childcare difficulties, please contact the school office to let us know by 10am on the day at the latest, and arrangements will then be made to supervise your child in the Library until the normal dismissal time of 3pm.

Please note that there will also be a later start for secondary and 16+ students on Tuesday 23rd September. Students must be in school by 9.30am when they will go to their form room, after which they will go to their normal Period 2 lesson. Late detentions will be issued for anyone arriving after these times.

Again, primary school times are not affected on this day and will run as normal.
