It has been another busy week across the school, with many students sitting or preparing for their first set of assessments, particularly students in Year 11.
Whilst assessments give a focused opportunity for students to revise and check their knowledge and understanding, the best practices are when students are doing regular revision and building this up over time.
Please take some time to talk to your child about their home learning – no matters their age, it is important that they are spending some time outside of school practising what they have learnt to secure their success. For secondary students we have homework clubs and study spaces to support after school to help them – if they are unsure where to go, please ask them to speak to their Head of Year.
Our Parent Governor (secondary phase) election is open:
As we seek to appoint a secondary phase parent governor to join our committed local governing board to support the continued growth and development of our school, I would like to thank our four candidates who wish to be considered for this role.
Parents, you are asked to read the candidate profiles carefully and consider who you wish to have your vote. SRS Parent Governor Election 2025 – Candidate profiles.pdf
Parents can vote once via the link: SRS Parent Governor Election
Voting will close at 5pm on Friday 17th October. The successfully elected candidate will be announced w/c 20th October.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
Mrs Cross
