Happy New Year and welcome back! I hope you and your families enjoyed a restful break.
It hasn’t quite been the smooth start to the new term that I would have liked, but my thanks to staff, students and families for your understanding whilst heating issues were addressed this week. Repair works are on-going however indications are positive and we have contingency in place. Fingers crossed for a ‘normal’ rest of the academic year!
As we start the new term, students have been thinking about their goals for the year ahead, with many of them thinking about important next steps in their education in the coming months.
Our vision as a school is for students to secure the 3Cs through their time at SRS – Currency (their qualifications to open doors to their next steps), Character (their ambition, engagement, resilience and kindness as a person, able to deal with what life throws at us and be a positive contributor to the world around us), and Cultural Capital (their wider exposure to and appreciation of a range of cultural interests, skills and opportunities, be that musical, sporting, performance, STEM, creative and so much more).
Here’s to a great year ahead for SRS and all its students and staff as we continue in our work and journey towards this vision for ALL.
Have a great weekend.
