On Friday a number of students from across the school took part in planting around 200 trees along the school’s boarder. These trees were kindly donated by the Woodland Trust and included trees such as Oaks, Blackthorns, Hazel and many more.

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity. They have over 500,000 members and supporters and more than 1,000 sites, covering over 26,000 hectares, all over the UK. The Woodland Trust aim to protect and campaign on behalf of this country’s woods, plant trees, and restore ancient woodland for the benefit of wildlife and people.
They have a vision that the UK is a place rich in native woods and trees,
for people and wildlife.

The hope is that the trees our students have planted, will help with the Woodland Trust’s vision and their efforts to protect many of the trees in coming years. We are excited to see them flourish into magnificent trees that will give the school field some privacy and some much needed shade.
