Firstly I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our pupils and their families – whether you are newly joining us at SRS or have been with us for years, myself and my colleagues, teachers and support staff alike, look forward to working with you and helping our young people realise the fullest of their potential, both academically and personally.

Our school newsletter brings together our whole school community – from primary, to secondary to 16+, students, staff, parents, carers and governors. The Globe celebrates the many successes of our young people as well as providing information and guidance to ensure you are kept up-to-date on school life. This week’s edition is a brief introduction but there will be much more in the weeks and months ahead!

Why is it called The Globe? Both the primary and secondary school sites prominently feature a globe in their reception atrium areas, a symbol which represents the wonderful diversity of our school with students and staff from over 75 countries; ‘Where the world comes to school’.

Whilst we have had just two days of school this week, it has been busy! We hope you all have a restful weekend and we look forward to seeing you for our first full week from Monday.

Mrs Cross
