Letter to Parents | Covid update – Updated government guidance | 29th November 2021

In line with government guidelines, we are asking all secondary-age students and all staff to return to wearing masks in communal areas with immediate effect.  Students are reminded that they must also wear a mask on public transport.

We hope that this measure will enable us to continue our practices as normally as possible.  Masks being worn in communal areas is a preventative measure in addition to those we already have in place, namely:

  1. Windows and doors: we are ensuring good ventilation by keeping classroom windows and doors open.  Please encourage your children to wear base layers as we go further into winter as coats should not be worn in the classroom.
  • Hand hygiene: students are encouraged to sanitise their hands on arrival to/departure from class. Cleaners will continue to replenish sanitisation products as well as clean touch points throughout the school day.

We also urge you to continue home testing at least twice per week.

We will be planning for lateral flow testing on our return to school in January following the holiday; details for this will be shared with you in due course.

We continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis and work with government guidance to ensure our school community stays safe.  I will keep you updated on any further changes and I thank you for your continued support.
