IMG_6680It was Healthy Eating week last week and part of being healthy is being active.  Sydney Russell students took part in a Skipathon. The idea was to encourage students to take part in physical activity that is fun, rewarding and heart healthy.

Students were offered the chance to stake part by skipping as much as they could. Although many students were apprehensive initially they all had a go and really enjoyed themselves. The playground was filled with students who were skipping. Year 9 boys were amazing and showed the rest of the school how to get involved. 9AS were busy helping out on the day too. They were helping to give out Healthy eating week leaflets and playing games with other students as well as handing out the ropes for students to take and use.

IMG_6678Staff got involved too. Ms Bouquin and Mrs. Abankwah joined in to show off their skills as well as Mr Tavares who joined in to show the students how its done!

The event was a huge success and we will hopefully run it again soon. Keep practicing! Well done to all those students who took part
