NQT INDUCTION PROGRAMME

Newly Qualified Teachers Induction

NQTs are fully supported during their first year of teaching. All NQTs have a mentor/coach to meet with weekly to continue to develop teaching practice.
This is organised by the Induction Coordinator who devises a programme of induction.

This begins in the Summer Term when the NQT induction is held over three weeks. We ensure that all NQTs receive an intensive programme, including an introduction to teaching, learning and assessment, and receive information that is important for the start of term such as registration duties and safeguarding etc. The summer induction also gives NQTs time in their department to get to know their colleagues and to adapt to ways of working.

The Induction Coordinator plans and delivers a range of training sessions throughout the course of the year, along with post session challenges to practice, embed and reflect on a range of teaching approaches and strategies.
The training programme can be found here..

The Induction Coordinator will organise the termly reporting of the NQTs’ progress to the Appropriate Body. The Induction coordinator will also process the final report assessing the completion of the induction period.
