As we near the end of this academic year, we draw another year of hard work and achievements to a close with our last newsletter of the year.
This week we have received news of our primary assessment outcomes, which I am delighted to share with you. We already knew that our children in EYFS, Y1 and Year 2 had worked incredibly hard and their EYFS progress and Phonics results confirmed that, with 94% of children secure in their phonics in Year 1, and really good results in all areas in Year 2 SATs – a fantastic achievement.
Our Year 4 children have been practising their timestables diligently and this hard work paid off, with 88% achieving full marks in their assessment (compared to the national average last year which was just 27%!).
And we have now received our KS2 SATs results for our Year 6 children who have achieved brilliant results! Above national average on all measures, with headlines of 92% working at expected standard in Maths, and 85% working at expected standard in Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling (GPS). Our Year 6 children have performed to a very high standard and are moving into Year 7 well-equipped for the new opportunities and challenges that await them – congratulations to them all for their achievements and our thanks to staff and parents for your tireless support.
I will be writing to all parents next week with our end of year reflections and some important points to note in preparation for the new year ahead.
In the meantime, I hope you have a lovely weekend and a great summer break when it comes.
Mrs Cross
