The 16 to 19 tuition fund 2021 to 2022 academic year
The government has made additional funding available for the academic year 2021-22 to help mitigate disruption to learning caused by the pandemic for pupils aged 16-19.
This statement outlines how the Sydney Russell School will use the 16-19 Tuition Fund to support students whose learning has been disrupted since the start of 2019.
The funding will be used to provide small group tuition for pupils studying for their A Levels at Sydney Russell.
Groups will be tutored by existing teaching staff using time inside andoutside of regular school hours.
Sessions will take place in person in the first instance, moving online as necessary.
Pupils will be tutored in small groups no larger than 5.
Pupils will be selected for tuition based on the progress they have made with their studies over the course of the pandemic.
Special consideration will be given to those pupils who did not achieve a grade 5 in their English and/or Maths at GCSE.
Bespoke subject support will be provided in English & Maths as well as other subjects where gaps in learning have been identified.
We are committed to ensuring that this tuition funding is used in accordance with the guidance found here.
We will ensure that records are maintained of the attendance of pupils receiving support, as well as the needs of those pupils and the number of tuition hours delivered.
